The official promotional site for the Fine Line Features movie Before Night Falls. The site was part HTML and part Flash-animated, utilizing painstakingly animated faux-video, to the extent Flash was capable of at the time: a series of PNG images, extracted from a QuickTime movie of the trailer!

Unusually, two of us from the New Line Cinema New Media Department were dispatched to Julian Schnabel's studio to pick something up, so it was impressive to see a glimpse of his working space.

Visual design derived in part from official digital assets, including: movie poster, movie trailer, and production stills. The entire site was archived on the Before Night Falls DVD as a bonus feature.
