The official Cartoon Network e-commerce site. I was lead designer for the original November 2006 launch as well as a comprehensive May 2011 redesign. The challenge was to closely mirror the design of CartoonNetwork.com as much as possible, while working within the strict limitations of the e-commerce platform.
2006-2011
My recollection is that the design for the original 2006 version of the site had extensive input from Cartoon Networks' in-house web designers. I remember them supplying a Illustrator file, prepared for high-resolution print, that I had to extensively recreate for web.
2011-on
I don't think there's much to say about the 2011 redesign, other than to reiterate that my job here was to build on the established look of the main Cartoon Network site at the time. But this time, we did not have to deal with unsuitable print-ready Illustrator files.
Below are some unused rough draft mockups for the 2011 redesign. I don't recall where the hand-drawn CN logo came from, but I don't think it was me. But otherwise, I clearly went a little overboard! These would not have even been considered, as they weren't on-brand for Cartoon Network.
